National Science Day 2021 (in Hindi : राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान दिन) – National Science Day (NSD) is celebrated in India on 28 February each year to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir C. V. Raman on 28 February 1928. For his discovery, Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.

  • Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman was born on 7 November 1888 at Trichy, Tamil Nadu.
  • 1917, Sir C. V. Raman was appointed the first Palit Professor of Physics at the University of Calcutta.
